TIME’S UP! Biggest yarn giveaway… ever!
Monday, March 23, 2009 at 5:31PM
Time is up! We'll be liveblogging the winners today (Wednesday) around 12:00 noon EST.
Have you seen our Spring Lookbook yet? (Even if you do nothing but flip through and think, "Cool," that will make me happy.)
We are giving away every skein of yarn pictured in the Spring Lookbook. Every single skein. All twenty of them.
This one:
And this one:
And this one:
And all seventeen more. We're not giving away the other stuff in the pictures, just the yarn.
There is no catch. You don't have to buy anything, you don't even have to pay for shipping. All you have to do is enter.
Contest rules: One entry per person. Our blog logs IP addresses, so we can check. Please enter only one time. You cannot be an employee of Three Irish Girls or be related to an employee of Three Irish Girls. (Got that, honey?) Your entry must be received by 4:30 am Eastern time on Wednesday, March 25th. Entries sent after that time will not be included in the contest.
Here's how it works: Reply to this post, answering the question below. You must actually reply to this post, do not email in your answer. (Click on the Read User's Comments link, and scroll down. It will take you to a box where you can reply.) After all the entries have been received, the number of entrants will be divided into 20 groups. One winner will be selected from each of the 20 groups. This is to improve your chances of winning. For example, if there are 100 responses, I will divide everyone into 20 groups. Each group will have five people.
Are you with me? 100 divided by 20= 5. I will then choose one winner from each of the 20 groups. In the scenario I've given, your odds of winning will change from one in 100 to one in five. Or something like that. I'm not a statistician. Just try to trust me, I'm looking out for you here. There will also be one grand prize given away, a winner randomly chosen from among everyone. The grand prize is a $150 gift certificate to be used on anything you like in our store.
TIME IS UP! WINNER'S WILL BE ANNOUNCED AROUND 12:00 EST TODAY (WEDNESDAY). BE SURE AND CHECK BACK, and thank you, everyone. :)GOOD LUCK, AND MAY THE (KNITTING) FORCE BE WITH YOU!

I would choose Cian to make myself the most perfect lace shawl that would go with every outfit and every event - Walking through the woods in the spring to see the wild flowers bloom - Relaxing at a beach side resort in the summer - Eating at a fancy restaurant during autumn - Wrapping it around my neck in the winter to remind me of the bright months ahead.
My best friend's five-year-old son name is Devin. So when I saw the colorway Devin, I instantly thought of him, especially with his green eyes. Having never made anything for her or for her son, it would be beyond perfect. In my knitting dream world, it would be a hoodie.
I would choose Clare to come home with me. And with her I would make a cowl so that the color would be right near my face. That way I could take full advantage of the infusion of life and vitality her colorway imparts.
Maura wants to be lots of little things, all close to someone's face. A beret, a hair ornament, a choker scarf, possibly gloves.
I have to pick Niall, for a cardigan for me. It's a tough decision, though!
Niall for me-for socks
I would take Jack home and make a shawlette so I could keep him with me at work.
Damn, why do you have to be all the way over there with yarn as beautiful as this? Maeve is just begging to be made into a beautiful hat and cowl set.
I think Maeve is my fav. It sounds lovely in the McClellen Fingering. Bamboo & silk~ it would have to be a beautiful scarf or shawl that I could wear next to my skin. I'm sure wearing it would feel like being pampered...
I love the vibrant colors in Connor and would love to use Connor and Brady to knit a scarf. I am new to knitting, but a scarf in these yarns couldn't be anything but beautiful.
Kate or Devin. Can't decide!
And I think I'd make a scarf. For me. :)
Jack, such a mix of colors! I'd love to make a scarf with him, he'd be so pretty!
I know I'm too late, but I still wanted to stop by to say how beautiful the colours are :) good job!
and what a great idea you had, i'm off to wonder on how to order from you!

Truely lovely yarn and website! You are very gifted in both the dying and photography! Particularily love maura, brady and maeve.
Oh, My!!!! What beautiful colors - it just does a heart good!!!
Laura Bowser
It's not hard for me to choose a favorite...my last name is Cameron. I think I would like to keep something close to my heart as a token of the great family I have married into! Perhaps a sweater in Cameron...WOW!
My favorite colorway would have to be Maura. The colors are so soft and beautiful. It would knit up into such a pretty shawl for this summer.
Love them all and would dearly love to win!!
Delicious colours, almost too beautiful to knit up. I think I would have to have them out on display for a while just to gaze at and admire and give the occassional loving stroke.
A spring cardie would be just the thing to get going on , ready to wear with lovely cotton dresses ans skirts. Love Maura and connor......and all the others ! How's a girl to choose ....???
I have never won anything in my life, but what a way to start--winning a skein of your wonderful new spring line. It is all to die for, but the three blues make me weak-kneed.
Well, there's so many, but since I can only pick one, but Erin has so many lovely colors. I would make a wedding shawl for a friend who is getting married shortly.
SO beautiful!
I can only hope that there will be more of these available because I can't possibly choose just one!
I would choose Maeve, because -after all- who could possibly resist the Queen of the Faeries?
I would make a Faerie Scarf, little slips of lacey patterns darting up and around the scarf, leaving teensey bridges for the next passers-by to slip through.
Then again, if I don't eat this week I can order Erin (socks) Claire (camisole) and Maura (just to put in a bowl on my centre table.)
Jack, I am in love with Jack. shh dont tell my hubby. I would make a hat, wrap and purse and snuggle with it all day. so beautiful!!!
Alana really speaks to me as a colour. I have a secret love of pink that I can't indulge because my husband hates it and it "doesn't suit" me. Still, I get away with it wherever I can: a ribbon here or there, a pair of socks, just a teeny-tiny band on lingerie (which seems to work just -fine- for him!). But in a perfect world, just about everything I own would be pink. Alana is the perfect compromise for my need to indulge pink and my husband's love of everything neutral. It's feminine and soft without being too Barbie. I want that colour for everything: mitts, blankets, hats... I think, though, that I would make myself a couple of darling shrugs (like the shetland shorty: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/shetland-shorty) and knit a matching cozy for my iPod.
Wow. This lookbook is superb. I am in awe of your photographic talent and eye for design in the photos! Stunning. And the colorways are have to haves.
It would be hard to pick one but if I had to pick just one colorway it would be Jack. I would make a hat and mitten set for my boy. And since I am ordering, I'd also have to have madigan and I would make a scarf for me :)
