TIME’S UP! Biggest yarn giveaway… ever!

Time is up! We'll be liveblogging the winners today (Wednesday) around 12:00 noon EST.

Have you seen our Spring Lookbook yet? (Even if you do nothing but flip through and think, "Cool," that will make me happy.)

We are giving away every skein of yarn pictured in the Spring Lookbook. Every single skein. All twenty of them.

This one:

And this one:

lookbook155-1.jpg

And this one:

lookbook92-1.jpg

And all seventeen more. We're not giving away the other stuff in the pictures, just the yarn.

There is no catch. You don't have to buy anything, you don't even have to pay for shipping. All you have to do is enter.

Contest rules: One entry per person. Our blog logs IP addresses, so we can check. Please enter only one time. You cannot be an employee of Three Irish Girls or be related to an employee of Three Irish Girls. (Got that, honey?) Your entry must be received by 4:30 am Eastern time on Wednesday, March 25th. Entries sent after that time will not be included in the contest.

Here's how it works: Reply to this post, answering the question below. You must actually reply to this post, do not email in your answer. (Click on the Read User's Comments link, and scroll down. It will take you to a box where you can reply.) After all the entries have been received, the number of entrants will be divided into 20 groups. One winner will be selected from each of the 20 groups. This is to improve your chances of winning. For example, if there are 100 responses, I will divide everyone into 20 groups. Each group will have five people.

Are you with me? 100 divided by 20= 5. I will then choose one winner from each of the 20 groups. In the scenario I've given, your odds of winning will change from one in 100 to one in five. Or something like that. I'm not a statistician. Just try to trust me, I'm looking out for you here. There will also be one grand prize given away, a winner randomly chosen from among everyone. The grand prize is a $150 gift certificate to be used on anything you like in our store.

TIME IS UP! WINNER'S WILL BE ANNOUNCED AROUND 12:00 EST TODAY (WEDNESDAY). BE SURE AND CHECK BACK, and thank you, everyone. :)GOOD LUCK, AND MAY THE (KNITTING) FORCE BE WITH YOU!

It's hard to choose, they are all beautiful. I think Clare would be my pick. I'd love to use it for a pair of socks.

Oh my! They all speak to me in such different voices! Madigan speaks the loudest, but most politely, to be socks. However, if I listen a bit more, Devin and Niall are asking to be shawls, Maeve is already casting on to be a vest and sunny Cian is practically begging to be a springy lace scarf!

Thank you so much for the inspirations!

Cian would make a beautiful pair of Cairdeas socks.
Nothing to make the tootsies feel wonderful - like a
bright pair of yellow socks peeking from under a
comfy, old worn out pair of jeans.

Wow - it's like Sophie's Choice. Truly. But I think I'd choose Niall.

And I'd be selfish and make myself a cozy scarf for next winter.

It's okay to be selfish - if I win I'll have lots of yarn to make things for other people, right? ;)

Maura, although they are all wonderful!

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterNicole

Maura.
And in a perfect knitting universe, I would create delicate lacy wings and shoes with curled toes.

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered Commenterfey

I like Niall best. I would make a sweet, casual sweater like the Apres Surf Hoodie to wear with a pair of blue jeans.

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterJennifer

Madigan.
I am on the search for the perfect yarn for a sweater for ME. I really need to knit something for ME. And my heart calls out to this yarn! They are all beautiful.

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterCayce

Madigan! oh it would definitely have to become a skirtie for our new baby due in August with a bell ruffle on the bottom!

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterChristi

I would have to say Erin is my favorite, because (other than the fact that it's GORGEOUS) the color and name both remind me of Ireland, where I just got back from vacation. It would need to become a pair of armwarmers so that I could wear them while it's cold in my office and be reminded of my fabulous trip!

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterKandice

Wow, this pure torture as they are all so lovely. Depending on my mood of the moment I would choose either Maeve or Connor, but if purchasing right this moment, I'd go for Connor to make a happy-to-look-at-and-to-wear cardigan. Thank you!

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterRobin

Connor!

Connor would be a cute little shrug.

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered Commentereffika

They are all so beautiful, but I would choose "Maura"...the photo with the eggs makes me think of Spring, hope, and new beginnings. I would make a shawl for my Godmother; she lost her husband of 60 years in January.

This is a difficult decision. As much as I love yellow, sunshine yellow is my favorite, Cian looks a bit orange yellow to me, the color of some daffodils. I will some day get that color but I'm not as much a fan of orange as true yellow. Brady is lovely shades of blues. Clare comes through with a sweet ode to tones of red starting with the deep pink. In the end, to choose one, I have to go with Niall.

What to make? Well, I have a son who came when I thought I could not have kids, way after I started thinking that, 11 days before my 45th birthday. VW is a great kid to boot, I'm so lucky to have him in my life. I'd make something for him. I think he'd love a sweatshirt..... with a front pocket..... and a hood. He loves to wear a hood. He makes Mama wear her hood, too. :-))

My favorite is Alana, and I think it would be scrumptious as a matching hat & scarf.

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterAdrienne

They're ALL gorgeous, but the rules say one so: In a perfect knitting world, I'd use Alana in the Wexford merino/silk to make the smaller size of the Aeolian Shawl from the latest Knitty. Wrapping that color around me would be like having a little bit of warm desert over my shoulders and couldn't fail to keep me warm.

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterCharissa

I love Kieran. Ideally, I would make a myself a sweater of some sort out of one of your sport or DK weights. There are so many beautiful colorways in there. I like a lot of the names also. Great job!

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterRobin

i love Kate, a lovely little dress for my newborn would be perfect and match lots of spring/summer clothing.

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterSusan

I love the Erin, I'd make a hat and scarf with it, or some socks, or maybe just pet it for a while because it's so pretty

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterHeather

What a lovely, lovely, lovely set of pictures. Stunning composition, and really just a gift to all of us. Thank you for sharing it. Niall is the colourway that seemed to pull me the most. The time of dusk fading to twilight has always been one of my most favourite times, particularly when I'm somewhere out of the city and can gaze at the horizon to my heart's content. In an ideal knitting world I'd have enough for a swingy cabled cardigan. Something with an A line.

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterPrairiePoppins

It was a difficult decision between Erin and Niall since both colorways are wonderful, but it would have to be Erin.

I lost my freind Erin a few years ago and I know she'd love the colors. I would either lknit a pair of socks or make the Forest Canopy Shawl with it.

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterElaine

Kieran - gorgeous shawl

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterLois Conway

In a perfect world, I'd be bringing home Erin, although it's a VERY tough call between that and Jack. Erin would turn into a newborn soaker, or longies, for a future baby to be. Jack would become a wonderful toasty pair of socks to keep my feet warm.

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterPatti

Connor would come home with me to be a sweater for my son Connor. I already have some Cameron(different from the new) that is becomming a sweater for my son Cameron and plan on ordering some Duncan for my son Duncan. My Connor was starting to think he wouldn't get a sweater.

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterKara

This is tough - they are all really nice. I think my best would be maura. I would make a sweater.
